Learner, Not "Deep Pockets" - Key to Work at Home Success

Being a LEARNER, as we define it, is a Natural Talent. Your Natural Talent is your key to your success when you work at home. You were born with it or you were not, you will never loose it. Most people who work at home have little sense of their Natural Talents, much less how to build a home based business around them. They are masters at knowing their weaknesses. They develop business plans, set goals, and do cash flow analysis, while their Natural Talents lie dormant and neglected.

This is the first in a series of articles describing the 34 Natural Talents that can make you successful when you work at home. Your Natural Talents are what gives you the "edge" in the market place. The purpose of this article is to help the people working at home identify their Natural Talents and what to do with the Natural Talent, once it is identified.

Your Natural Talent is your key to your success when you work at home. If you develop and use it, it can make you successful. Martha Stewart has been quoted as saying that she has to learn something everyday. If she doesn't, she will stop at the library on the way home from work, regardless of the time of day or night.

Business plans, cash flow projections, marketing analysis, etc. are skills that are needed to be successful when you work at home, but they can be learned from courses, workshops or books. Your Natural Talent is what gives you the competitive edge.

First, examine, if are you a LEARNER, as we define it. Our definition of LEARNER is: A person that loves to learn. The process, more than the content is what is exciting to the LEARNER. They are energized by the steady and deliberate journey from ignorance to competence. The thrill of the first few facts, the early efforts to recite or practice what they have learned, the growing confidence of a skill mastered – this is the process that entices them. This LEARNER's Natural Talent does not necessarily mean they seek to become the subject matter expert, or they are striving for an academic credential. The outcome of the LEARNING is less significant than the "process of getting there.

A LEARNER can start a home based business such as carpet cleaning, and be successful. It is much easier and a lot more fulfilling for a LEARNER to be successful in a home based business that requires a lot of learning about the new subjects matter in a short period of time. For example, a business that is associated with the fast moving high tech computer business.
