Doorknobs ? There Are Plenty Of Home Security Solutions For Your Home
Have you really taken the time to consider your home security solutions? Just because you have locks on your doorknobs doesn't mean you are going to keep a criminal out. While doorknobs do their job and hold a door shut, they don't offer a lot of protection from extreme pressure from the outside. If a criminal were to kick on the doors of your home, chances are the doorknobs would not be able to hold up to the force, break, and the crook would be making their way inside. So, what's the solution? There are a variety of levels of security for a variety of people to use when making their home feel safer. One of the next levels of security is dead bolts to back up those doorknobs. While some people used to add little chains and slide levers to the back of a door, those are also not going to hold up to a lot of force. But a dead bolt lock will. These essentially are a strong big brother helping your doorknobs stay in place when someone is trying to force their way inside. You should have at least one dead bolt lock on every door in your house that leads to the outside. While most doorknobs are locked with keys, new technology has allowed more options in this arena as well. Instead of a key, which can be lost or stolen, and then used to gain entry into your home, there are new electronic keypad locks in which a code has to be entered in order for the locks to release and allow the doorknobs to be opened. The downside is that if you forget the key code, you are likely going to have to explain to the police why you had to break into your own house. If you are at home a lot, you may well feel your locks are going to hold up alright, but you also may want to have a way to know if someone is lurking around outside, before you end up on the other side of the door. This is where more of that new technology comes in handy. There are now motion-sensing devices you can attach to the outside of your home that will let you know if someone is outside. Sometimes they also turn on lights, to illuminate the person there. This is convenient if it's a guest you were expecting, as it will light their way. If it's someone who is not supposed to be there, it is convenient for you as well, as it will shed a lot of light on what they're doing and send them running. Finally, if you really want to see what is happening outside, there are only two ways ? to be outside watching things all the time, or have eyes that do the job for you. It's affordable and relatively simple to set up home camera monitoring systems. These systems are usually 4 or more cameras that are installed outside your home and let you have a bird?s eye view of anything going on.
