Hawaiian Flowers-Aloha

Hawaiian flowers are known for their beauty and exotic charm. They form an essential part of the Hawaiian culture. They are used for decoration purpose and making ornaments. Before we talk more about them, lets know something about Hawaii.

Hawaii is a volcanic island located in the Pacific Ocean. Eight islands combine together to form the United States of Hawaii. The island came into existence from the eruption of eight volcanoes that took place overlapping each other. The island is the southern most tip of the United States. Apart from being gifted with a beautiful location, the Hawaii island also witnesses most beautiful landscape.

Hawaii is a favored tourist destination. Every year, the number of tourists keeps on increasing making it more and more popular. Its flowers, apart from the mesmerizing beaches, are one of the many attractions that make it one of the most visited tourist place.

The whole world recognizes Hawaiian flowers for their colors and their artistic use. These flowers are a source of delight and entertainment to the people. Hawaiian flowers are also known all over the world for their heavy fragrance.

Gardenia is one of the popular flowers known in the Hawaii Island. This flower is native to tropical and sub- tropical areas of Africa, Southern Asia, Australasia and Oceania. These flowers are shrubs, dark green in color, with a leathery texture. They are in small clusters. These flowers are basically white or yellow in color. These flowers bloom from mid-spring to mid- summer. They are blessed with good scent.

However, Gardenia flowers are difficult to be grown. They are tropical in nature so demand high degree of humidity, which is not present everywhere so to speak. Apart from the humidity, this flower is not supported by acidic soil.

Apart from these special flowers there are some common Hawaiian flowers that are known across the world. Rose and tulips also form an important aspect of the Hawaii culture. These flowers are basically used to make Lei, which is a Hawaiian garland in simple words.

To make a lei, various kinds of flowers are attached to the string. Lei is a symbol of affection and care that is worn while arriving or leaving the island. This concept of lei was introduced through the interaction between Hawaii and the continental United States. The lei is also used in the cultural functions organized on the island.

If you are a regular holiday maker and looking for an exotic destination for your next tour, come to Hawaii. The Hawaiian culture and the Hawaiian flowers will make your visit a lifetime experience.
