'Barclay Butera Home' Launches Pillow Collection During Return to New York International Gift Fair

The NYIGF features fashion-forward design, contemporary suppliers, and a comprehensive collection of handcrafted merchandise and cutting-edge, sophisticated home furnishings. Says Butera, President/CEO of Barclay Butera Inc., "I really respect this venue as one of the most important accessory markets in the country. While Butera has been designing and selling pillows for a number of years -- as a favorite, best-selling and easily rotating accessory -- the new collection takes the designer's creative expression to the next level making them timeless, stand-alone pieces, just as fashion designers do with a classic scarf or shoes. The collection has different styles, such as printed linens with raffia back, and some more stylized with flocking and damask. But in signature Butera fashion, they are all driven by pattern and texture. The pillows in his new collection will feature hidden zippers and various trims, along with the different textured and contrasting backs. The pillow collection will also reflect Butera's special affinity for 1940's Hollywood glamour, while maintaining an understated feel.

MAKING 'GREEN' CHOICES

With the new pillow collection, the inserts are made of feathers and corn by-products; and the inner-covers are made of unbleached cotton, are biodegradable and come from local manufacturers. Butera plans to persist in making responsible choices when it comes to the home furnishings industry, as he has been doing with his upholstered goods -- using water-based stains, glue with no off-gassing, pure alderwood from replanted forests with no chemical processing, and pure linens, raw silk, raffia and bamboo based textiles.
