The lack of stark surfaces creates an atmosphere in which one gets a sense of being enveloped. One can be absorbed into the soft feel and comfort of the room. This creates a space where people may feel free to let their guard down and become more personable. With the focus not on people, but instead on the overall atmosphere of the room, everyone is placed on a similar plane of existence.
